sp3 is not stable & my pc is quite old 2 [p4] ......


now, many of my folders have grey check on "read only" option ....... is it normal ? or my pc is infected with some kinda worm ?

SP3 worked well in my old computers (5 years).

Can you post the name of these folders (full path of them)?

@tech .... if i format my pc & install avast again, cant i just copy those previously downloaded virus def`s instead of wasting my presious mb again ???

as am on LIMITED net usage ...... plz can v do that ..... tried ur old method [copy 400.vps & clnr0.dll] bt didnt work ........ any other ?

I really suggest that, at first time, you update the full virus database.

400.vps is enough. You need to disable avast and disable the self protection module (Troubleshooting tab of avast settings) to do that. Then copy the files, then enable both avast and the self protection module again.

No, there isn't another method (better than the direct update).

there r 61 no. of files "unp265706436.tmp.mdmp" type of files, r they safe 2 delete ???

Yes. They're dump files (generated when avast had a problem or crashed).
We have asked a lot of times to Alwil team that avast should have a better housekeeping procedures... ::)
