where to send virus?
« on: December 22, 2008, 04:08:32 AM »
I have a list of more than 3000 virus samples ;D
avast left 14 files  ;)
that 's ok because Kaspersky 2009 left 34, AVG 8.0 left 19
-> well done
where can I send these samples to avast lab?
(I can only use yahoo)
why this forum doesn't allow attachment of rar/zip lifes? it would be easier

Zip and password protect the files (with the password virus) and send to virus@avast.com remember to put the password in the body of the e-mail.

For the exactly reason that we don't post links to malware or false positive material...
What do you mean avast left 14 files? That Kaspersky detected but not avast?
Where are the files now? Into Kaspersky quarantine or in your computer?
Are you using one antivirus at a time?

He mean that of all 3000 samples, Avast missed 14 samples. Kaspersky missed 34.

Depends on their priority. Malware in the wild, quickly spreading in the Internet, will be added earlier. False positives are corrected as soon as possible, on next virus database update. Specific malware could take more time. But, indeed, there are times we wait a lot to see a detection... some days.
