Yes, very nice, I took advantage of a similar deal several years ago when I was using the Outpost free firewall. It is a nice firewall but I disable its additional bells and whistles, like anti-spyware and web control, I like my firewall to be just that a good firewall.

You might find that OP Pro detects avast and suggest disabling the OP anti-spyware module for compatibility, accept the suggestion.

Currency conversion has always been an issue, normally it was the other way round though when the dollar was low against the pound 2 to 1 some did a straight 1 to 1 a right rip off. Though with the current credit crunch currencies are very fluid. Don't forget it is a lifetime license so represents a very good deal over time.

Hey David thanks for replying, i wonder are there really any incompatibilites with OP's anti-spyware module and avast! ?? Just wondering, i would probably disable it anyway but i'd just like to know what the issues are ...

BTW i've sent an e-mail to agnitum about this conversion rate issue, hope i'll get a reply soon.

Personally I don't think so but from my previous experience (earlier version), it is very noisy, e.g being resident it is running on boot opened hundreds of files and this action caused avast to scan those files also and from memory my scanned count total after boot in the standard shield was 1200ish and that slowed my boot (I have a big topic about it in the avast and agnitum forums.

So whilst it may not have any compatibility issue it certainly put a spanner in the works and had an impact on performance.

I have bought a lifetime license for SAS also and that is resident and there are no such issues with avast and SAS. I also trust SAS to do a better job than the OP anti-spyware module and I also have MBAM as an on-demand scanner, so I really don't need any more anti-spyware cover.

Hi, not sure if this helps, a posting by a member at wilders http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1371471&postcount=4

Seems money conversion process isn't very fast. :-\  tim

David i will do a forum search and try to find that thread of yours. Otherwise thanks for the info, looks like i'll be switching the AS module OFF aswell. :)

I'm gonna be so happy to finally get rid of that stupid(IMO) "dragon" firewall(you know which one i mean). I really really don't like it but there isn't a single good free 64 bit firewall available so i was actually already considering buying one. Good that RNfromTN let us know about this great offer from Agnitum. Thanks again RNfromTN !

It is an old thread relating to the previous version of OP Pro, so it isn't too relevant, but I still feel a firewall should do what it is best at, being a firewall and let other specialist applications take care of what they are good at ;D

I had one license for SAS but i gave it to my dad cause he definitely needed it more than i do so i installed SAS Pro on his machine(xp pro sp3 x86). But now i find i am missing SAS, just don't feel the same with MS Defender watching my back, i'll probably get another license for SAS ... :)
