Well avast going nuts on a web site isn't too unusual as the web shield pre scans content before it is allowed into your browser cache. If something is found avast will alert and the only option given is abort connection, this drops that particular file so it shouldn't get into your browser cache (browser dependant ? up to a point).

So there shouldn't be anything on your system, but you can a) clear your browser cache, b) run an avast scan to confirm nothing on your system.

You don't say what the file name and location of the detected files are ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast 'a' icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe

If this is a web URL, ensure that you modify the URL so it isn't active, e.g. change the http to hXXp, this breaks the ling avoiding accidental exposure.

I have had a quick look at your log.
The Bonjour and Viewpoint software are considered by some as adware. Commonly comes with iTunes junk.

Both your Adobe reader and JAVA version as way out of date this leaves your system vulnerable to exploit. I would also suggest a visit to this site, which scans your system for out of date programs that have patches to close vulnerabilities, http://secunia.com/software_inspector/.

Ensure you have the latest version of JRE (JAVA Runtime Environment) because older versions can be vulnerable to malware. First remove All Older Versions From Add/Remove Programs.
Then get the latest update from here http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Or JRE version 6 update 11 http://www.majorgeeks.com/Sun_Java_Runtime_Environment_d4648.html

Other than that I don't see anything obvious.

Well exactly what happened was. I got a warning saying Sign of so and so detected. I used spybot to delete the two Trojans so my biggest question is what can I do to fix the vulnerability warning concerning windows ?

Spybot "cleansing"
« Reply #3 on: December 31, 2008, 09:24:13 PM »
 :)  Hi :

Since you used Spybot to do the "cleansing", perhaps it would be wise to
ask their experienced, certified, Volunteer "Malware Remove Specialist(s)" to
"finish" the job on their Support Forums at http://forums.spybot.info  !?

Well firstly deletion is a poor first option, it leaves no others, and makes any investigation much harder. You don't say what the file names, locations are, again that could help us to help you.

I would suggest both of these tools as they have other functionality that may be able to reverse any change to the registry relating to the WSC.
If you haven't already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode and report the findings (it should product a log file).

1. SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version. See the Preferences section, Repair tab and see if there is something related to the repair of the WSC.

2. MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, On-Demand only in free version http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe, right click on the link and select Save As or Save File (As depending on your browser), save it to a location where you can find it easily later. This also looks for incorrect registry settings and may be able to correct any registry change relating to the WSC, so it might be bets to run this tools first.

OK

Well after installing the above programs and searching this is what I have and included here is the avast log as well.
The good news is Megabytes has quarantined the items

Avast.
Sign of win32 Trojan has been found in C:DOCUM-1\user\LOCALS\-1\TEMP\WINVSNET.TMP
Sign of win32 Monder-GB has been found in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\H6GXWNO6.DLL
Sign of win32 Patched-HH has been found in C:\DOCUME-1\USER\LOCALS-1\TEMP
SENEKA-4337.TMP

Megabytes scan before quaratine: Adware.minibug , Trojan.Agent, Trojan Fake agent

Superantispyware scan - Didn't complete because of error below

And when I get a shot at doing it in normal mode without internet connection I keep getting a win32 error which causes my comp to powerdown in 54 seconds

Hi parachutestx,

While some of these viruses attack explorer.exe, I would advise a scan in SafeMode also with DrWebCureIt,
you can run that safely next to the non-resident avast. Download DrWebCureIt from here: ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/launch.exe
& place this most recent download =  launcher.exe on a USB stick and scan your computer with DrWebCureIt scanner from it,

Apart from what help polonus has suggested, the win32 error rings some bells, if it is not a win32 application or words to that effect.

If so this could be an indication of a beagle infection (often protected by rootkit) where it effectively kills AV/Security software (avast up to a point has protection with the self defence module), so that might be what you are seeing with the SAS issue.

So try CureIt and I would also suggest some anti-rootkit tools:

- Panda Rootkit Cleaner - http://research.pandasoftware.com/blogs/images/AntiRootkit.zip.
- Trend Micro RootkitBuster - http://www.trendmicro.com/download/rbuster.asp
- F-Secure Blacklight may not always be available, http://www.f-secure.com/blacklight

Ok I will do this and reply soon.

Also a update via Safe Mode I ran Super Anti Spyware again and it now has  Quarantined Adware.PRUN

Also how do I run the Trend Micro Rootkit Buster.asp?

From that page you download the stand alone anti-rootkit scanner it is zipped in a .zip file so you need to extract the executable file to a location you can find it again and just double click the executable to run it (in normal mode).

This is I believe what has to be done it is a long time since I tried this.
