Mail scanner and ZIP
« on: April 26, 2004, 10:52:00 PM »
Have setup my avast to scan inside ZIP attachements in mail. And that works, but somewhat strange....

Every mail with a ZIP-file attached shows TWO viruses. But it's the same file. But shows as two attachements. And is added to the Chest two times.

But from the path I can see that the first entry is the ZIP-file itself, and the second the infected file inside the ZIP (the path is the temp path where it's unpacked).

Why this strange behaviour. Should either the ZIP file OR the file inside be moved to the chest. Not both (after unpacking).

Her is an example from the headers:

Attachment: \Notice.txt                                                                                                                                     .exe   Virus: Win32:Netsky-Z [Wrm]   Moved to chest
Attachment: \Notice.zip   Virus: Win32:Netsky-Z [Wrm]   Moved to chest
