Some trojans have been getting past my Avast 4 home. Can I reinstall over my current version or must I uninstall before I reinstall?

uninstall first and us the avast removal utitility when finished to clean any leftovers. then install fresh

HD,

Remember, Avast is desiged to detect viruses.  Some Trojans are really "spyware".

Try installing an anti-spyware product such as Adaware or Spybot.
