Windows 7 / Avast Home - BSOD/TDX.SYS
« on: January 11, 2009, 01:30:30 AM »
Hallo,

Hello,

At the moment I have all providers up to standard protection uninstalled and it seems to work.

Other users have similar experiences? MS has the fix in Vista is not integrated into W7?

According to the number of similar reports on google, it's quite likely that the problem is in the TDX.SYS driver itself and has nothing to do with avast...
Anyway, can you please upload the corresponding minidumps (I assume they'll be in Windows\Minidump folder - at least that's how it is on previous Windows version so far) to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming ?
Thanks.

Sorry about the german - it was late ;).

I have uploaded my minidumps as rgottsch-minidump.zip.zip (yes, .zip.zip - I need to turn off that file extension hiding, it drives me mad).

Thanks for minidumps.
Looking at dump, there's no avast driver on the stack and system crashed in tdx!TdxDisconnectConnection function. You can try to uninstall Network Shield/WebShield providers and you'll see if it helps or not.

Getting this with AVG (I'm back here to see if Avast is affected) on W7 beta x64.

Had to de-install, then system is stable.

Would appear to be an MS issue, but since some are working ok there must be some configuration issue that's causing it to surface..

You can also try installing using "Run As Administrator"

Not sure if it would help with this situation. It is good preventive medicine for most installs, though.
