Just did a boot scan including archives - cannot find its log.
« on: January 18, 2009, 08:36:52 AM »
1) As stated in my header - Just did a boot scan including archives.

Went to the Simple User Interface, clicked on Menu, selected "Log Viewer".
Went to "Warning" - see no log listed for the hours long Boot Scan just completed.
???

Also -

2)  Is there a way for me to set the time in the forum to my own time zone?

3) Is the time on the Logs in the Log Viewer automatically set to my own Time Zone?

Thanks for all help in answering these questions, as well as my other questions in this forum.

I believe it's
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\aswBoot.log
but I'm not currently near an avast!-equipped PC on which a boot scan has been run.

Try right click on the avast! a icon in the Taskbar then select avast! Log Viewer

Go to your profile and adjust the Time Offset: to your time zone.

I am in EST so mine is set to -4

Your post guided me to it, but a different address ultimately.
correct thru DATA, then it's
\report\aswBoot.txt

I'd expected it to be included in the avast! Log Viewer, but for some reason the boot scans are not included there.

I had tried My Profile, and just tried it again. There is no time offset there.
It does list my Local Time, and my actual time is -7.
But for some reason there is no Time Offset option on my Profile page.

Yeah, the boot time scanning log has a separate and independent report. Remember, avast is not 'loaded' at that time, so, the process of reporting is different. Besides, into normal Windows, avast logs are different from avast reports.
