virus dark angel
« on: June 02, 2003, 07:18:46 AM »
A few days ago avast found a virus named dark angel sorry do not know the tech name It was found inside the avast program folder and the avast windows temp folder. In both cases avast deleted them.
However since than if I extract a zip, rar or anything similiar I get a verbal warning that my computer is infected but a virus scan shows nothing.
Am I still infected with this virus or am I getting false positives?
Also what type of virus is darkangel? ???

Sorry, this was a false alert.
See http://www.avast.com/forum/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=398 for more info on this.

Anyway, updating the virus DB to the last version should resolve the problem.

Sorry to say that I never got that chance my regestry was put out of whacked and had to reinstall the whole system. Could this be caused by the dark angel thing? Oh yeah another thing that happen which was strange before I uninstalled than reinstalled windows the amount of drive space on c: never went down and it did not add up properly to what I had on my drive. I do not mean a small difference I mean near gigabyte of difference. Could Dark Angel cause this? Or did I get a new virus that disguised it self has dark angel? ???
