Can't get managed uninstall product task to work on Vista managed client

Desktop was upgraded to Vista and avast is working fine. I want to create am uninstall routine to have if needed for my Vista machines. I go into create deployment tasks and create the uninstall managed products ask and try it on this machine and it runs with waiting in the status forever.
Any ideas?
