How do I hide "Access Scanner Messages"
« on: February 04, 2009, 04:38:02 AM »
Avast 4.8 Home
Windows XP Media Center Addition Service Pack 3

The "Access Scanner Messages" are interupting and filling my screen half full constantly. I am not able to get any work done and I can cannot find the setting to hide these so I am not continuously interupted.

Thank you very much for you time.

This feature must have been enabled by someone.  ???

To turn it off. Right-click on "a" in System Tray > On-Access Protection Control > Click 'Details... >>' button (if necessary).
Click on 'Standard Shield', then on 'Customize' > 'Advanced' tab > uncheck 'Show detailed info on performed action" and click 'Ok' > 'Ok'.

Cheers.

The 'Show detailed info on performed actions' option is off by default, so it would appear you have been tweaking avast without knowing the effect it will have.

This function is also on the Web Shield and Internet Mail providers so you should also check those.
