Im about to try about the Beta of Windows 7 via a virtual machine

Hi Justin...

Hey! I didn't think of running this on a VM. I'll see if I can download a copy and see how well VirtualBox handles it. :)

EDIT: (Please disregard the previous statement I made here, I got a bit frustrated with the registration process. :))

May God Bless all of you! :)

Hello,

Ardvark are you refering to a legal copy of VirtualBox? if so I have no idea sorry... Im using a copy of Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1 and all is running fine maybe a bit slower with only 1gb of ram being used by it but its not slow enough to complain about.

*EDIT: I take the slow bit back with only 1gb of Ram dedicated to Windows 7 and multiple programs running outside of the virtual PC it is extra slow on THIS PC dont take my word for it though it would most likely run faster on newer machines

Hi...

That's the part of the problem. :(

They're telling me that my e-mail address has already been taken and I don't have another address to give them. I don't remember ever registering with Microsoft with my current address. In addition, the site doesn't work very well with IE because I have all non-session cookies blocked (and have no intention of allowing them) and Firefox doesn't seem to work well with the site even with cookies enabled. :(

Best Regards...

Hello,

sorry to hear :( couldn't you make a disposable email account with yahoo or gmail?. I have all cookies allowed so the site works fine the only workaround that I know of is to allow non-session cookies untill the download has finished then disable them.

Hi Justin...

I'm glad you're liking it, I do want to try it out for myself. :)

I have 4GB's on my system, so I'm wondering if I should set VirtualBox for 2 GB's if I decide to install it?

Best Regards...

I would go for 2 if I had 2 more to spare for the Host Pc yes. As I said with only 1gb its running very slow in the Virtual PC but still even in Beta I cannot wait for the full release of windows 7  :)

Hi Justin...

What are your favorite points with this OS, if I may ask? :)

Ive not delved that deep into yet but my favorite part right now? the fact that they have improved on a few things like Aero shake for one and the redesigned task bar that clears up the clutter that comes with heavy computing the different functionalities that they added here and there and that they have reduced the size of the OS by getting rid of apps that came bundled with it that no one (that I know) really used

*EDIT: By the way I'm a fool for eye candy  ;D they added plenty of that in Windows 7 without sacrificing resources.

Hi Justin...

Thank you for sharing that. :)

I'm a sucker for the eye candy, too, so I definately relate. ;D
