Flash Disinfector
« on: February 08, 2009, 12:18:27 AM »
Have read several post's on Flash Disinfector, and think I would like to use it. I have a flash drive,(1gb) that I have loaded with pictures, I downloaded, (pasted),from my computer.(COBY Digital Photo Frame and Clock). I have down loaded it (Flash Disinfector) to my desk top and am ready to install it. I am not quite sure of the consequences to expect, or what it exactly dose ? Dose it install on my computer, and help me ? And how do I get it on the flash drive ? Thanks  ;D

This is a little potted script I use for flash disinfector, courtesy of essexboy.

1. Flash Drive Disinfector
Download Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs from >here< and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
  • The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
  • Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
  • Reboot your computer when done.
Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder...it will help protect your drives from future infection.

You didn't read the script it is a hidden folder, so unless you have show hidden files and folders you won't see it.

Though if it didn't even say insert USB stick, etc. then my only assumption is that it might not be working and that I fear might be down to your old OS, which unfortunately is going to hamper you in many things.
