No I am a Dutchman. Family from my father's side lived here in this polder near Rotterdam since the year 1275, my mother's family is from Prussia and came to Holland since the Napoleontic wars. My wife is genuine Polish (her granddad took part in the wielkopolski uprising to put Poland back on the map again as an independent country), and I learned that difficult language. Danish language is in the same family like Frisian and Dutch and a lot of words have similar meanings or have a bit different historic development. In our language gammel means old and deteriorated, in Scandinavia it is just old - gamle bilar = old cars. So gammel and old (=Dutch oud) grew a bit apart,
