I wasn't too hopeful, as I say it is normally applied at domain level.

Most certainly a mystery.

You could try using the OpenDNS.com as your DNS server as there have in the past been some DNS server hacking/redirects, but again that I would have though would be at domain level also.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I just tried deleting the support.avast cookie. No difference.
WRT OpenDNS, I would not bother since support.avast.com is the only site that the anomaly occurs. Some days I can get to the site and other days, I cannot.

I just did two traceroutes. For www.avast.com (67.228.112.194), I am taken to the US west coast.
For support.avast.com (195.47.75.66), I am taken to the Czech Republic.
Since I use Visualroute, I can supply screenprints if required.

When did you become a moderator?

There is even a pinned topic about support.avast.com in this forum. Talking about a subsite of avast.com is not permitted. Rubbish.

Quite some time ago, but not on this forum.
when you enter the url as:
http://supportavast.com/
What opens up is not at all related to avast. Which is why I asked my original question.

When entered as:
http://support.avast.com/
you get the following:

As you can see, I have no problem opening the avast! Support request site.
All we need to do is get you to also have no problems getting there.

I do not know where you dreamed up 'supportavast' from.  I certainly had nothing to do with it.
Nice try to weasel out instead of saying that you are sorry. Even your emoticon used earlier shows contempt.

There are currently a total of 4 topics expressing the same problem for some of us. I agree that there is no permanent solution as yet that always works. But I do not belittle those who have the problem.

It appears that if it does not happen to Bob, it is not worthy of discussion. ::)

I just tried Bobs second link, which he refers to as the official link and got the support page same as Bob.I am on I.E.7.and had no problem, and Bob was a moderator on this forum and I find him neither grumpy or sarcastic. He helps a lot of folks out giving up his time freely.

There are other topics on this board about the same problem. There was no Bob interjection in those topics. I judge people on what they do now, not what they have done in the past.

I suggest the moderators close this topic. Those of us from different parts of the world are seeing things and are not to be believed.

Seymour, I wonder if it has to do with not having the Fee version of avast!?

When the site worked for me, I was able to register and am currently a registered member of the site. Most of my customers have the paid version; only the home user generally does not.

There are periods of time when I am able to get in with no problem. Today is not one of those times. I have never been able to figure it out as yet.

Are you on Rogers or Sympatico?

Nothing to do with IE7 being superior.
Here are screen captures using 3 different browsers.

Most likely those that have a problem opening the page have some security running which is
preventing the page from displaying properly.
The trick is to find the common filter used by those effected.
