I'm running out of space on the partition avast shares with XP. I'm reluctant to repartition, so am looking to uninstall Avast and reinstall it on a more spacious drive partition. What files should I plan to move to the reinstall directory. Other suggestions appreciated including comments about changing the space on partitions.
Thanks for input

  • If at first you don’t succeed; call it version 1.0

I don't think it can be "moved" as such, because it would require many registry modifications to point to the new install location.
It may be possible. But why not just uninstall it, and install it anew to the new disk/partition? You'll have to re-enter any settings etc, but it will be much less problematic than trying to move it.
Windows 10,Windows Firewall,Firefox w/Adblock.

I took your suggestion, uninstalled from D then reinstalled on G. No problems seen. Avast seems to have retained the registration data. All in all a very satisfactory resolution.
Thanks for your input.
