Vista can not check avast

After I updated vista system this afternoon, system can not check avast and display windows system alarm "can not find virus software on this PC". why?help, thanks

Is this picture the "alarm" you get?
Does the Avast icon look normal, and spin when files are scanning?
Windows 10,Windows Firewall,Firefox w/Adblock.

Don't Panic!

Before you try doing anything else.. Shutdown Your Computer - & - Start Up Again!

This Should Hopefully Fix Your Problem  ;)

Sometimes, Windows Security Center stop recognizing your antivirus or firewall... So, check your system time and date and also http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=23457.msg193534#msg193534
