Been using avast! on-and-off since 2002 and that's one thing I've never thought to check.  ???

I have no idea as the demo key is only valid on that system (and the two are tied) for 60 days then it wouldn't really matter, as the anti piracy function to stop users simply uninstalling and reinstalling again it the hope the demo would extend the 60 days, this doesn't work.

In the pro version if you try this (reinstall) the duration drops to 6 days.

I have no idea why you would be curious about this, but now I'm curious as to why you are curious ?

ahm, its just because some of my friends were asking for an antivirus and i got them the home edition of avast. i told them to register to avast to have it working for 14 months and register again after it expired. so im just asking because i just copied the installer and placed it in my usb and gave a copy to some of my friends because i thought this was a great anti virus. i just don't want to do anything bad you know.

That's fine, when that is installed on another system the demo/trial key will be linked to that system's ID and after the 60 period would be expired unless by then they hadn't registered there Home version and been sent their own unique registration key to enter.

You would be surprised what some people ask on these forums ;D
