Uninstall Managed Product(sw) fail
« on: February 17, 2009, 09:44:47 PM »
When trying to uninstall avast client from a xp sp3 machine it returns a "failed (Error 0x7FFF0021) in the Session Status area of ADNM console.  The client does not show up in the add/remove programs list either.

Thank you.

If I understand well, what you got is :

The ADNM is not able to install/uninstall the Avast! Managed Client on one Windows XP Workstation and there is no sign that Avast! (or any other Antivirus software) is present on this computer ?

If you beleive that Avast! (managed/standalone) antivirus (or any other Antivirus Software) have been installed on this computer, then run the proper (based on the old antivirus software manufacturer) uninstaller DIRECTLY on this computer.

Normaly, you will install the Managed Client, on the Worksation, using the installation Package (prepared in the ADNM) and by launching this installation package using the Administrator privilege (from the Workstation).

Double check if the Windows XP Workstation Firewall is set to allow communication for Printers and Files Sharing.

Double check that the Username / password, use by the ADNM console to either install / uninstall package is registered in the Workstation Administrators group. If not, then you found your problem (specialy if you are on a local domain).

Also, if for any reason the Printers and Files Sharing port, of either the ADNM computer or the targeted Worksation, is blocked by any Firewall, network protection software then the communication is impossible.  Make sure this port is open on both computer.

This would be my first investigation for your case.

Good luck
