New purchase 'Pro' - but no Blue Ball??
« on: February 28, 2009, 11:42:23 AM »
I've just upgraded from 'free version' to 'avast! 4 Professional Edition' - paid me money an' got the code!

I followed the Download Instructions, which included "Remove existing?" which I took to mean the 'free version' so I clicked 'Yes'.

I restarted my computer and the 'Pro' install instructions say look for the blue ball.... there is NO blue ball!  Neither can I find avast! in the Programs.

Can anyone please tell me what I do now?  And if it is in non-technical language, so much the better!!  Many thanks.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

Try to install the software again:

Googler, first thing, installing avast Pro does not require (or ask for) uninstalling the Home version.
Where did you buy this version of avast?

You need to insert the license key. See the tutorial:  http://www.avast.com/files/tutorials/insert_key.htm
Please take a look here: http://www.avast.com/eng/faq-invalid-license-number.html
