File in Virus Chest cannot be restored
« on: March 05, 2009, 05:43:15 PM »
Problem:
A file was detected as infected and moved to the virus chest. I think is a false positive, but when I try to "restore" it, nothing happens, the file remains in the chest.

Also, the Chest cannot be open from Safe Mode. The following message appears:
"Initilization of Chest files: Action was completed with errors".

A copy would remain in the chest, but a) it should have been restored to the original location and b) it would be detected again, assuming it was infected.

You don't say a) what section of the chest this was found, b) the file name, c) tho original location and d) the malware name ?

avast doesn't run in safe mode to the chest process wouldn't be running either.
