How can you see the persistent mode in Preferences

I have seen this reference in past post and can not find this setting on any screen,
Can not find any folder in preferences for avast--
are we looking for a com type file.

In the Menu bar click Avast and choose preferences. Uncheck "Launch at startup as a persistent application"
