To be sure AVG is completely removed run the uninstaller at http://www.avg.com/download-tools and reboot.

Thank you for the suggestion!
Even if the old antivirus was Anti-Vir instead of AVG (my mistake), no Anti-Vir components are actually present in the system.
Security program leftovers are often not apparent. For AntiVir run the removal tool found on this page:

http://www.avira.com/en/support/support_downloads.html

Reboot. Then try repairing Avast in Control Panel > Add/Remove. Select Avast > Change/Remove > Repair. Reboot.

Thank you Jahn. I've done all that you said but nothing chaged.
Probably I'm a desperate case...  :'(

Morning (I´ve omitted the Good) Eva,

I have no magic - the only thing I can think to try is to completely uninstall Avast and then reinstall it.

Your computer knowledge is at least as good as mine, probably better. Whilst you/we await expert help
may I ask if you have a satisfactory email workaround just for now?

Do not give up - even if it were say, a hardware problem, I reckon someone here will crack it soon.

My regards
