How do you restore quarantined files?
« on: March 18, 2009, 04:23:10 PM »
I hate asking this question because it had to be asked before, but I searched for about a half an hour & couldn't
find an answer. If you scan your pc with Avast home & quarantine some file then restart your pc, but it won't
boot into Windows how do you restore the files from quarantine? Thanks.

Bad... avast prevents sending necessary files to boot to Chest to avoid this problem.
You can't run Chest in Safe Mode, so you can't restore them.
Maybe you can copy the Chest contents to another computer (<avast>\Data\Chest folder) that has avast, restore the file to an USB drive and try to use the file (if it is not infected, i.e., if it was detected but it is really clean, it was a false positive).

Can you post the file name/path?

This was just a theoretical question in case this happens to me. I install Avast on all my friend's computers
so I'm trying to be proactive. Thanks for the response.
