won't accept registration key

Hello, my first time here!

Been using Avast! with no problems for a couple of years, but my registration expired a few days ago, and I re-registered and then obtained a new registration key number. But when I entered the number, the old registration number stays there, it will not change to the new one. Any ideas? Didn't try rebooting, I don't think I should have to try that. TIA!

Well the first part of the registration is the only bit that shows, so it is possiblt that this looks the same, you should compare the one which was sent 14 months ago (you did save the emai didn't you ;D) with the new email.

When you enter (copy and paste) the new key, you should get confirmation that it was OK, etc. or an error message if it were invalid ?

You should see that the Update expiry date in about avast would be 14 months from now ?

Go to the SSL page version and register from there: https://secure.avast.com/scripts/register.php?lang=ENG.  The Registration key is valid for 14 months.
