Encrypted torrent traffic mistaken for email activity
« on: December 23, 2010, 11:01:51 AM »
Hi,

Avast mistakes traffic from Deluge torrent client as secure IMAP trafic and presents a pop-up warning telling it can't scan that information. I guess it happens because someone somewhere has his torrent client port set to IMAP port. This Avast behaviour is confusing since Deluge is not email client and causes unnecessary pop-ups.

avast! does not know that, it is just scanning the port traffic

In the mailshield there is a setting where you can turn of the popup notification

Then there's a chance for delvelopers to make Avast even better product.
