ZoneAlarm identify AVAST.SETUP as spyware
« on: April 04, 2009, 02:25:59 AM »

Recently, whenever ZoneAlarm asks for permission to allow avast to access the internet, an alert adviser popup appears,

"ZoneAlarm Pro has detected AVAST.SETUP on your computer and identified it as spyware. AVAST.SETUP may pose a security or privacy threat. For more information on AVAST.SETUP, click on http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/images/user/spacer.gif" height="1"></div>"

What could be the cause? False positive? or is my comp infected? Thanks

Well with the pro version doesn't that have an AV and two resident AVs is a no, no.

Apart from that the avast.setup the the avast update process it most certainly isn't spyware. Most certainly a false positive.
