Yeah, I hope so too. Also keep in mind that this is a bit odd for Avast. We usually get incremental upgrades and now we are going from 4.8 strait to 5.0.  ;D

I won't worry about .8 .9 versions... avast 5 is being prepared since a long time ago. Some of the last .8 updates were an antecipation of some 5 version. It's a big step, but it's being prepared for more than one year...

It would entirely depend on the reason for an update anything critical would I guess be released in the current version as has happened in the past (avast 5 was in development then too) rather than simply be added to version 5.

However, no one one the forums other than Alwil staff could possibly answer that question with any degree of certainty (just what has happened in the past).

If necessary, even after the 5 version release, during some time, could have updates to version 4.
