SBS Suite Client Install
« on: April 14, 2009, 09:57:26 AM »
Hi All,
Im looking at rolling out a demo of SBS Suite and was wondering wether or not the install of clients be automated via login script or similar?
On that note are updates downloaded server side and pushed out to the clients?
Cheers,
Tom

You need to use the ADNM Console.  Information is here: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-adnm.html

Installation manual here: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/adnmag.pdf

It is part of the SBS Suite product, and included with your purchase (actually, I think it's free).

You don't need login scripts or anything, Use ADNM to: Create an installation package for your server, and for your clients, discover them, then deploy the package.  If they are vista, you may run into problems with their firewalls.  You can either turn them off (not recommended) or use Group Policy to add exclusions for the few ports that Avast needs.  XP's firewall could have problems too.  Same fix as Vista's as stated earlier.

Thanks scythe.

No problem.  I hope it works well for you.  But please read the manual.  It should answer most of your questions, and if you have anymore, playing around with the software a bit will help, and of course, we're here as well.  Good luck!
