Avast (pro) screen will not appear after it thought it had removed the virus.

This started yesterday after leaving the computer connected to the internet for a few hours (it was fine before). It started redirecting my searches through a fake google results page and then the computer shut off unexpectedly.

It then restarted with an error in googleupdate.exe and black screen after login. In task manager there was iexplore running (even though i avoid ever using it and wish i could uninstall it) dwwin.exe and it tried to install microsoft office?? My 3 day-expired avast pro was renewed and I did a boot scan twice (removing various trojans) and deleting randomly named trojan .dll files, but dwwin.exe, the mysterious 'system' process and another process (sorry forgot name) are still running at startup.

Avast cannot recognise any virus in memory now and the main screen cannot be accessed. When I tried to download malwarebytes it sent my firefox to a malwareremovalbot link which has installed and is leeching on the computer, that just in the past 20 minutes! avast also just found another randomly named .dll trojan. I'm running the real malwarebytes now..

also googleupdater.exe was running with googleupdate? maybe one is fake?

how annoying that itunes and google are loading the computer with crappy startup items anyway hope somebody can shed some light on this..

I suggest:

1. Clean your temporary files.
2. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
3. Use SUPERantispyware, MBAM or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete them.
4. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest avast! antirootkit or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
5. Disable System Restore and then reenable it again.
6. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster.
7. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.
The best things in life are free.

An analysis of your HJT log shows the following :

We didn't detect any active process of a firewall on your system. Reasons maybe:
(1.) You are using the windows firewall or a hardware firewall.
(2.) You are using a firewall of an unknown vendor.
(3.) You are using a firewall, but for unknown reasons it is disabled
(4.) You don't use any firewall at all.
We recommend you to use a firewall.

The below entries were marked as either questionable or BAD  :

C:\Program Files\MalwareRemovalBot\MalwareRemovalBot.exe
BAD entry - Fraudulent Security Program infection.
http://www.prevx.com/filenames/X766996446563488675-X1/MALWAREREMOVALBOT.EXE.html

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
Related to Windows Live Messenger. Unnecessary (deactivated) entry that can be fixed.
http://www.systemlookup.com/CLSID/3998-HTC_DLL_htc_8_1_0178_00_dll_htc_8_1_0168_00_dll_htc_8_1_01_00_dll.html

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MalwareRemovalBot] C:\Program Files\MalwareRemovalBot\MalwareRemovalBot.exe -boot
BAD entry - Fraudulent Security Program infection.
http://www.prevx.com/filenames/X766996446563488675-X1/MALWAREREMOVALBOT.EXE.html

There were 2 questionable entries but they checked out as OK and so I will not list them.

I suggest that you follow Tech's suggestions above and then post the results here ... in particular, use MBAM.
