Hello,

I have the Avast Rescue Disc in version 24.2.8904.
I am looking for the checksum of the file "aswPEAntivirus.exe" with the similar version since some antivirus programs flag this executable as virus and I would like to check its integrity.

Thank you

You should be able to lookup checksum @ https://virustotal.com and scan it there as well.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit 22H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.1.6099 (build 24.1.88821.762)  UI version 1.0.797

Thank you for the reply. I actually scanned it there and one engine flagged it as virus.
Thats why I wanted to ask for a virus free checksum for someone here.
Does virus total detect a virus for your  "aswPEAntivirus.exe" and what checksum does it have?

It isn't unusual for some antivirus products to detect other AVs as malicious if they can detect their virus signatures.

Most of us won't have ever needed to create a Rescue Disc.
There is nothing to stop you uploading the file to virustotal for analysis, I think that's why mchain gave you the VT link :)

That file should be digitally signed by Avast once created.  A file that has been digitally signed should be fine.
Quote from: Extract
What is a digital signature? A digital signature is an electronic, encrypted, stamp of authentication on digital information such as email messages, macros, or electronic documents. A signature confirms that the information originated from the signer and has not been altered.

I am sorry, but this now the second answer that is not helpful and does not answer my question.
I know about virustotal, I did it in the first place! However, I need a reference checksum because I did not create the rescue disc by myself and have currently no machine to create another one.
So please, if anyone has the current version of Avast, please let me know any checksum (md5, sha-1, sha-256) of aswPEAntivirus.exe (either from the installed program or the rescue disc - assuming both executables are the same)

Thanks!
