Update Errors?

Hi there,

Why do I get errors while auto download/ install of security, recommended updates after a fresh Vista Install?

I normally get it while installing Net Frame work 3.5 Package.

Is it cause of these few reasons?

1. Windows defender is ON?

2. I have Disabled Remote Registry, Secondary logon & System Restore?

3. Or should Vista Service Pack 1, be installed before installing Net Framework 3.5 Package approx 235 MB?

Windows Defender was causing the error "Failed Install."

I disabled it & the Net Framework Package 3.5 installed with out any issue.

Thanks for the update I hadn't heard of windows defender doing that before, a bit weirs an MS product blocking a windows package.

No problems here either and Windows Defender was active.
