Wait, Can you remove a G:/ and a D:/ drive? Also, can I move some of my files to a removable thingy that allows me to reput it in and get the files back? How do you format?
Use Easeus to manage partitions. Windows CD can format the system partition (C:)

How do I install XP again if I lost the CD?
Well... you can't without piracing...

The Windows 25 digit key and validation sticker should be on the system unit if it is a valid copy of Windows purchased from a reputable system maker.

Go to Add/Remove Programs and un-install McAfee SiteAdvisor as it is virtually useless and hopeleslly out of date and I think that McAfee destroyed it after purchasing it through not having people maintain it,  BitDefender and Viewpoint.

Have a look in WoT forum about SiteAdvisor:
http://www.mywot.com/en/forum/3166-needs-red-rating

  • eFax Messenger needn't be auto started.
  • Read about Lext JumpDrive software:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/LxrJD31s.exe-21825.html
  • Microsoft Office needs a lot of RAM
  • Do you really need Windows SteadyState, VMWare or Windows Media Connect?
  • Running CCleaner at startup slows down Windows startup quite a bit:
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-18\..\Run: [ccleaner] "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" /AUTO (User 'SYSTEM')
Run it before shutdown to clean the system now that you do not need it.
    http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=16551
  • Disable Windows Live Messenger from starting with Windows

Close all browser windows the start HijackThis then select the following then Fix checked:
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - C:\WINDOWS\bdoscandel.exe

O16 - DPF: {5D86DDB5-BDF9-441B-9E9E-D4730F4EE499} (BDSCANONLINE Control) - http://download.bitdefender.com/resources/scan8/oscan8.cab
O16 - DPF: {C4925E65-7A1E-11D2-8BB4-00A0C9CC72C3} (Virtools WebPlayer Class) - http://a532.g.akamai.net/f/532/6712/4h/player.virtools.com/downloads/player/Install3.0/Installer.exe

I would hesitate loading all that stuff on my XP Pro System as it is loaded with adequte protection and about 1/4 as fast as my Vista system.

Best to reinstall Windows.

 :o But... but.!!!?oh but!?!?!?!?> but 1! i cant do that! Its so annoying, WHY CAN'T I JUST DELETE SOME ADD/REMOVE PRGRAMS/>?
 ???

I don't want to reinstall windows...

Windows just slows down to a crawl after a while and only a reinstall will do. Deleting programs doesn't help.

Reinstall your original disks, or if you don't have them and you're not a gamer, consider Ubuntu like I did.

http://tune-up.com/

For $61.54CDN I can buy a lot of food and I can get everything that utility does for free elsewhere.

I guess you need that over there but unless you are in the CIA, FBI or work for Intepol then it is quite un-necessary.

http://acronis.com/
If you are in the habit of partitioning hard drives frequently and have $49.99 to spare then it is good to have.

For US 199.95 you must be joking.

personally for a paid program, I like "Auslogics BoostSpeed", it's a very well programmed program, codes written in this program is not poor like many other junk things.
it did cause problem for NONE of windows I've used it inside.

if you don't like to pay for it, you can use part of it for free, such as registry cleaner for free or registry defrag for a long time trial and....
