Checking Downloads for viruses
« on: May 16, 2004, 04:02:50 PM »
I've just installed AVAST, and tried downloading the EICAR test file to see if it was working OK. It allowed me to download the test file without warning, but it did catch it when I scanned the drive. Is this normal or do I have something set up wrong? (My last antvirus package caught the test file during the download)

Yes, that worked. I'm a bit surprised it isn't set as the default (i.e. to scan all downloads).
Thanks
