ashwebsrv.exe memory leak?
« on: May 19, 2009, 03:37:40 AM »
On my XPSP3 home, Avast Home installation there is a progressive memory leak in ashwebsrv.exe. the footprint starts in the 12Mb range and will eventually creep up to the high 70's, occasionally up to 100MB + if I leave the machine running long enough.

Which browser are you using? Are there many tabs opened?
Which is your operational system?
Which other programs are running in background (with Internet connection)?
Any other security tools installed?

I've seen other threads with this problem, might be worthwhile to search around.  I can't find it again, but I've seen them before.

Tech's suggestions are good though, it really all depends on what you have open.

As for the previous threads that I've seen, I don't recall them having a definitive solution, sorry.

Again, look at tech's points, and search around for more answers.  I'm sure there's something amiss that's causing this problem...
