Chrash at startup
« on: May 19, 2004, 02:56:37 PM »
I know this is reposting, but all methods I've tried failed.
Avast crashes after startup and it has something to do with ashSimpl..
I did change OBDC to XML and downloaded all Windows XP updates. When Avast was launching I skipped memory test but it all didn't work.
If there is another way to solve that problem please let me know.

It's my translation form polish:

Instruction from "0x01b2328d" refers to memory adress "0x00000000".
Memory could not be "written".

And this is in avast support mail:

avast! has generated unhandled exception (crash report follows).

Did you try the hint given in this thread?

(I really don't know if the updated HTML Help component is included in common WinXP updates).

After installing htlm update (which wasn't up-to-date) and reinstalling avast it still doesn't work.
