Avast cannot updated definition by windows 98

Why Avast home edition cannot updated definition by windows 98 SE? :'( :'(
i have tried manual updated, i press the button for updated but not respond.
is zzit Avast home edition not suitable or cannot support with windows 98 SE? ??? ???

Hi

This should not be a problem. avast! 4.8 Home works with Windows 95 & 98.

When you say "press the button", do you mean:

Right-click on "a" in System tray > Updating > iAVS Update

Are you getting any errors, like this one below ?

"Not enough storage" error when updating the virus database
