SBS 2003 Server Licensing
« on: April 27, 2009, 08:05:58 PM »
Hello, I Installed Server 4.7 SBS Suite for a client in July last year on a Dell running Windows SBS 2003 Standard and now everytime the software tries to update the iAVS or the program it comes back with the error message 'Licenses for the following products are missing or invalid: avast! Sharepoint Server Edition'. Yet surely Sharepoint is included as part of license along with Exchange and SQL? I have attached screenshots so perhaps you can advise what is going wrong.

Regs,

Dick.

Yes, all of those are included, provided that you got the SBS Suite edition (http://www.avast.com/eng/buy-avast-antivirus-sbs-suite.html).

You might try re-copying the license.dat file back to the data directory on the server.  It may have become corrupted?

Not a complete answer. Sharepoint plugin was only added a couple of months ago, after I and some others asked questions about it. There were never problems with the plugin becasue the update system did not verify the lisence correctly. Avast corrected that mistake and that started the problems.

Search the forums for the conversation about it.

If you purchased SBS 2003 server edition before somewhere around januari februari this year, you'll need to contact salesATavast.com to request a new lisence file.
