Does Panda Internet Security left behind the same Panda active scan trash? (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=12432.msg104932#msg104932)
Maybe you should use Control Panel, boot, then a good Registry Cleaner (there are threads about this in avast forums) and then manually check the items left behind by Panda.
I suppose you've Googled this issue too  ;D

Uninstalling Panda with Add/Remove programs and then using a registry cleaner such as TweakNow RegCleaner Standard (free) to clear Panda entries should be a lot easier to do without loss of other data/programs.

I  have had success uninstalling, Norton, McAfee, Bit Defender, NOD, AVG, Avast, and KAV 5 by using the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and then going to Search, and searching for all files and folders with the name of the program.

After deleting those, I have had no indication that any trash was left. I use CCleaner also. It seems that this would be a faster and simpler way to remove the program.

Hi drhayden1...

Hope I catch you before you do the restore...here is the removal tool:

http://www.pandasoftware.com/support/card.aspx?id=21203&IdIdioma=2&ref=SopMonPlan

Scroll down until you find the "UNINST_v1011.exe" file.

This covers the 2005 and 2006 versions.

Hope this helps  :)

Conflict between resident AVs or remnants of a previous one can occur at any time, some people who have had two AVs for many months say there no problem, that is more by luck than design as many find conflict problems immediately.

So there is no hard and fast time frame conflicting low level drivers could well be responsible for not having a connection and avast not working, it would depend on what the other AV was and what remnants were left behind.

Thats why Vista isnt recomended when you face this problems... no single detail on whats hapening,

all it says is "it wasnt possible to conect a service of windows" great i must say lol...  ::)

Overall: only way is formating the OS again.
