Avast Server Edition not updating
« on: May 03, 2009, 12:15:57 AM »
I am getting the following error in my logs while doing a Program Update.
02.05.2009 15:06:26 general: Invalid license "C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\License.dat", type:AV_SP, return value: 0x0000A4A

Also, see screen shots attached for what we are running and error I am getting.

We are running Sharepoint on Win 2008 Server.

Can someone help me with this?

by the looks of it u dont have a sharepoint license installed.

if ur sure that u purchased the licenses then i would suggest contacting ur dealer or avast sales directly about this.

(just to be sure im logging at work so i can see my licenses to see how they license plugins, but i believe it should be in the list u showed that u have sharepoint)

edit:  i just checked and the plugins are seperately mentioned in the license area. Meaning that you dont have the sharepoint plugin. Either purchase it or if you did purchase the licenses contact avast sales to correct your problem.

Depends on whether it is a SBS server edition or not.

If you have purchased SBS edition, Sharepoint plugin DOES belong to your license.

This was changed very recently (beginning of this year?)

If you purchased SBS server edition last year or earlier you have to request a new license file from salesATavast.com.
