Avast4workstation-1.3 Not Working On Fedora 11 64 bit
« on: June 17, 2009, 05:44:51 AM »
avast4workstation-1.3.0-1.i586 is not working on Fedora 11x86_64.

The package installs fine but the display has no text at all and the aspect ratio is out.
This works fine on the fedora 32bit version but not the 64 bit.
Had the same problem this time last year.
It seems the package has issues with new os's.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated and a big thank you in advance.

From my point of view, 64-bit OSes have problems with IA-32 compatibility - that's it. Yes, avast's core contains some 32-bit parts, and thus, it needs this layer OK and fully functional. Unfortunately, many 64-bit distros have been not 100% IA-32 compliant (Ubuntu HoaryHedgehog, RHEL 4 AS etc.).
