so I was right it is all saved on the internet I need to fine the right words to explane to my husband the right way that the information on that site will be to where hacker can't get it. both of us have had bad experience with some one was getting into his account and removing small amount from his account at a time. we don't have much but still he was getting into his account and removing $5.00 $10.00 ever once in a while. mike is good in math and new he should have a certain amount. Mike with drew some money to where he should have had at least 15.00 in the bank but he was over drawn bye 10.00. then there was mine they but 125.00 of porn on my credit card. that one was caught and i did press charges. now we only have mike  account threw paypal and my credit card thew paypal.

I have to reread each pg a few more times to make sure I do every the right way it takes a while for me to retain what iI read. the reading most of the time is easy but I have trouble remembering thing in order and doing each part {won't say any more there}. I have certain important things I need to do 1st but I am sure by the end of the day I can report back and tell you how and what I have done.
thanks Sharon

Just make sure that you have a medium (external HD or DVDs) with enough capacity to store what you backup.

There is no reason why you shouldn't also backup >2G of important files/pics etc to Mozy, if you want. Just so long as you know they ae two completely different processes.

create a backup image of an entire disk or selected partition{s}
if i mark local hard disk
i get cannot write 2D:/
THIS DESTINATION IS INCLUDED ON THE BACK!

if i mark network is says browse for network folder
it wants me to name the use ID as the file name, but that  part that is grey and you cannot mark there what do i go please?
i am not sure when i can come back and check for replies

You're talking about making a backup with Macrium?
And I guess you are at the point where it says " Choose a local directory, network, or removable drive to contain the backup image".

If so,
What are you trying to backup the image to? Have you plugged an external drive or DVD in? If so, browse to it.
If not, you need to.

If you right click on the "my computer" icon on the desktop, and click either "open" or "explore", is the DVD/CD drive visible?
Should be similar in appearance to my screenshot. The names, and possibly the locations, will differ.

If you intend to use DVD's to back up your System then you need to make sure your DVD is capable of writing to a DVD.

morning to you Targ and every one els. or i should;g say good night to some like targ.
there a little bit of difference to start off with, just enough to confused me some times. I use to click on my computer just like you to start with. now I have to go to start then click on computer. after that if I put a blank disk in and click autoplay and the menu comes up and you can click on create disk or edit image and it will open up and you will see a blue square box that Say's cyberlink DVD suite Deluxe it will have 7 icons under those words. one of then being copy and backup under that you will see watch a DVD. I am not sure if I have to use that to start the backup or not. under that you can click on watch a DVD.
i am not sure when you say click either "open" or "explore", is the DVD/CD drive visible?
where I put the DVD or CD has to be visible maybe you might be talking about the little blue box that is visible. if your not talking about that I am not sure what you are talking about. in the other post you can read what it says about where I am at after when i can click on macrium refelct.
thanks Sharon

I use all windows operating systems between the various systems it use and maintain.
The type of system doesn't matter.
If your DVD can't write to a DVD then you can't use it as a back up tool because you can't burn DVD's with a DVD READER.

Most Optical drives have some indication on the front of the DVD Drive, mine has DVD RW (read Write) on the front of the loading tray.

If you use My Computer, View System Information, Device Manager, then find the DVD/CD-ROM Drives and expand that it too should say what the drive type is, see image. Now that is for XP Pro, you will have to find the same/equivalent in Vista.

maybe mine is not setup to do this kind of backup because looking at  Device Manager it has a disk drives witch has the Corsair Flash voyager USB Device and WDCWD12OOBEVS-60UST0ATA Device. it has nothing that says DVD on it. all I really wanted to do to start with was to learn how to do a backup on a disk or two. because all I have been doing is copying certain things from the computer to a disk not knowing really if I got all I  needed or not. thanks every one for the help so far at least i am still learning some thing.

What does it say at the front of the drive, where you put the disk in?
The set of numbers/letters suggest that your CD/DVD drive is by Western Digital.
Should be on the computer spec sheet/pamphlet somewhere, if you kept it.
