Registry Scanning
« on: July 05, 2009, 03:04:49 AM »
I have been using avast for a long time now, and I was wondering if Avast scans the Windows Registry Keys. If It doesn't will that be included on Version 5?

As far as I'm aware it doesn't scan the registry in the same way as a specialist anti-spyware scans the registry. However, if a spyware file is detected I believe it looks for associated entries in the registry.

I have no idea if this is to be included or not in avast 5.

If you want a registry scanner a good 1 its Malwarebytes Free. Really good work with Avast!,Windows Defender and Windows Vista Firewall. For sure i never heard any conflict with it.
