boot time scan
« on: May 22, 2004, 03:11:47 AM »
Avast had been recomended to me by another forum that I belong to. I had a virus and the moderator told me to download Avast and do a scan, which I did but then I was supposed to do a boot time scan, I can not seem to figure out how to do this, any help? Thanks in advance

open up the avast program...not the resident shield...go to menu...schedule boot-time scan..i'm assuming you are using windows xp or 2000...coz if i remember correctly....it doesn't work on other windows

I tried, but I can not seem to locate the program, I tried both icons, and in the start menue, wher would I find the "program". Everything I click on doe's not show a menue. I even made sure to install the key # that was emailed to me.

Right click on blue "a" ball next to the clock and Start avast! antivirus. Now you see a default blue interface. Click a triangle on the top left side of the interface,so you'll get a dropdown menu.
Select Schedule Boot-Time Scan and you're ready to go :)
Fast alternative to this is my avast! External Control ;)
