You should consider adding at a minimum another 256MB RAM and 521MB RAM would be better.
512 is still skimpy.  2 Gig would make you think you just bought a new computer. :)

A Celeron is a budget CPU and adding RAM helps but 2GB for XP is overkill IMHO.

I have had many different levels of RAM (very expensive some years ago) for XP Pro which I have had for some considerable time.

512MB was a lot when I first upgraded to XP Pro over a win98SE installation at that point in time RAM prices were extortionate. When they reduced in price I went to 1GB and I did notice a difference in general performance.

On this relatively new system bought 1 year ago I went for 2GB, however there is no way to directly compare as the CPU (core2duo rather than single core AMD athlon mobile over-clocked), HDD (SATA2 rather than IDE) and NTFS format (rather than FAT32) were in their own right faster so no direct comparison can be made. But for me on this system with 2GB (and the other elements) the system fairly flies along ;D

However the OS is only one element in the equation on how much RAM is too much (4GB as the theoretical max on a 32bit OS), and the other applications that you run regularly and or in the background are much more important than simply the minimum requirement for the OS.

The more memory you have the more that can be run in memory and the less need to constantly swapped out to the virtual memory (pagefile.sys) on your hard disk. It is this swapping out to the hard disk that is the bottleneck in many systems and the more RAM you have the less this is required.

So really it depends on what the end user uses their computer for.

PCTools is a really good firewall. Another good firewall is Outpost 2009 free, which is what I use as it gives me better protection than Comodo did and doesn't pester you like D++.
with PC Tools Firewall Plus should i also get ThreatFire that comes with it? Or should i try to say no to ThreatFire

ThreatFire is a behavior blocker. It can increase your security.
It won't be necessary in the future, with avast 5.

My XP has 3 Gig installed which is actually the max Xp will address.
It's also the system that runs MySharedFiles and various other servers. :)

Ok. It will take the decisions (most of them) in your place. It's a program that you can trust.

Michael Jackson Phishing Scam, featuring Comodo

Be on the lookout folks. Not only are the malthors using Michaels name to infect the living hell out of you, but it also seems, they're using his name to try and scam as much money as possible out of you.

Actually i don't care if there are some additional toolbars that are installed depending on user choice. Because they are giving their high-quality software with full functionality for free. I don't see why some ppl try to bash Comodo, maybe they want to bash on purpose? ::) Btw, Comodo fun boyz also piss me off. ;D There is no need to be fanatic. Security softwares are for our computers to protect them, but many ppl forget this purpose and they kinda use their computers for security softwares. ;D

-Off topic-
The one and important thing that i don't like about Comodo is that even though the CEO of Comodo company (Melih) and the creator of the firewall (Egemen) are Turkish ppl, they haven't added Turkish language to their software yet since the very first release of the version 3. What a shame! I wanna thank all avast! guys for their interests on this language subject because avast! is the one which has the widest language options i think. Kisses to all of you! :-*

Most of avast! language versions were created by avast! users - volunteers who spent a lot of time translating the program, sometimes even help files. So, thanks should rather go to them...
(well, I suppose you may call them "avast! guys" ;)).

Yep, i meant those guys and Alwil company as well. Because, as far as i know, the Turkish language support was added by one of your business partners in Turkey by dint of the localization policy of Alwil company. And i know that some language supports were added by volunteers (like Tech). So i thanked both volunteers and Alwil company (and its business partners) by saying "all avast! guys". ;)
