Why did I get this when I booted up this morning?

Thanks.

It is telling you that you don't have an antivirus application installed.  Since you are at the Avast Antivirus forum, have you downloaded Avast, and if so are you planning on installing it?
Sorry I see on your desktop that you do have a shortcut to Avast.  Someone who knows more about these things may be able to help.
Have you checked Avast to see if it is running.  If it is there must be something wrong with the HP Total Care advisor.

roro,

It is already installed on the machine.

(the blue ball is in the taskbar and the desktop)

dwdruley,

I'll have a guess...

What does windows security center say?
Could it just be a glitch in the hp program?
Does a restart solve it?

Scott,
I didn't notice the scroll bar at the bottom so didn't see the blue ball.  I guess I was just to fast to answer.

Well, you did notice and you corrected yourself 3 seconds before I posted ;) (maybe I was too slow :))

It happens... :)

Absent any more comments, I'll chalk this up to a HP glitch. Far more likely than my trusted Avast.

If I get a repeat tomorrow, I'll be back.

Thanks.
