What is on Port 25??
« on: May 25, 2004, 12:49:22 AM »
I get a message when I boot up that avast cannot use port 25 because something is already on it.  Isn't there a test I can do to see what's on all my ports?

Help

I can check there but I thought there was a utility I could run locally that would tell me what I had on what port.

Jaz,

I think you are talking about running the Netstat  command at the Dos prompt.

The problem with Netsat is it will only reference the process by number not application name.

You have to take the info you see on the Netsat screen and then go into MSCONFIG and look up which process goes with the number for Port 25.

Better off trying TCP View as Technical recommended.  ::)
