How can this happen
« on: May 25, 2004, 01:16:32 AM »
My computer is getting slower when connected to the internet and sometimes having difficulty downloading my mail. The strange thing is the virus checker Avast is saying I have a virus in
("c:\Program Files\agnitum\outpost firewall 1.0\op_data"file)
but Avast couldn't delete it so I just clicked on the repair button so I could continue scanning my disk. How is this possible if Outpost-Pro is a firewall? I have noticed recently that Outpost-pro is constantly clearing some logged information that keeps changing, I didn't have this trouble using the free Outpost-firewall, I don't think I'll be buying the "pro version. What is happening here?

ok RealSecure Network Sensor has the same problem (network version of BlackICE)

the firewall loggs the suspicious packets in its log (in this case the infected one) and avast detects it.

the work around is to disable the firewall and delete the log file (dont worry a new one will be generated but this time virus free)
