Is it reasonable to assume that the Pro v 4.8 license will work with V 5? I hope I don't have to buy a  new license, but like others I am really looking forward to it.

Yes it will, it is valid for the entire period regardless of a new version being released in that time frame (unlike some other companies :P).

I find more and more reasons all the time to like Avast. Yes some others are not so generous.
Avast has always been my fallback AV and a good one. But it keeps getting better and better.

This is what I presently use:
1. Avast Home
2. PC Tools Spyware Dr. Paid
3. ThreatFire
4. PC Tools Firewall+
They all work well together but will I be able to get rid of everything if I buy the Avast 5.0 Suite and still have the same protection with less resource use?

The suite will have a firewall so you don't need another firewall, in fact you shouldn't have two firewalls running at the same time.

You shouldn't need Threatfire as the suite (in the AV element) has a behavioural functionality.

Hmm... I don't know if this information already is public...
but the two colours used in the new user interface are grey and orange... I think they will try to match the desktop- and taskbar-icon to these two colours... :)
