avast isn't a firewall as such, so though it can probably be done in the Web Shield, Customize, URL Blocking, Add and enter the IP address. I don't know if the URL Blocking is able to take IPs or only domain name blocking, etc.

However, I feel it is probably better being blocked in your firewall.

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I agree with DavidR here, this should really be done with the firewall.
You haven't told us which one it is...

However it is possible, with a test using the google IP as an example, it does work with avast.

EDIT:Bear in mind also, that typing the domain name will not be blocked, this has to be included into the blocking list also.

Why do you want to block an IP?
Which is the site?
You can use hosts file or avast webshield to block websites.

I suppose this should really have been there...

If you put a domain name there, that is technically better as a domain name could have multiple IP addresses and if it moves servers, the domain name would block all IPs for that domain.

The XP firewall provides zero outbound checking (as I mentioned in the other topic) so you couldn't block an IP or domain with the XP firewall...
